Every Game Amad Diallo Will Miss For Manchester United Through AFCON 2025

Amad broke out as one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents to watch last season, and after his injury, Manchester United lost a major ounce of their prowess up top.

This season, he will be out again for weeks, this time because of AFCON 2025. If the Ivorian is selected as part of the national team, there are quite a few fixtures he could be unavailable for. With the Premier League matchups and dates confirmed, here are the games he will miss:

Premier League Games Amad Will Not Be Available For Due to AFCON

AFCON 2025 is set to take place from December 21st through until January 18th. This means the Ivory Coast international could miss up to six league matches. The games that Amad will guarantee to miss, should he be selected in the national team squad for the tournament, are:

  • Aston Villa (A) – December 20th 2025
  • Newcastle (H) – December 27th 2025
  • Wolves (H) – December 30th 2025

If Ivory Coast are to progress to the later rounds of the tournament, Mbeumo will then miss the following:

  • Leeds United (A) – January 3rd 2026
    • If Ivory Coast make Round of 16
  • Burnley (A) – January 7th 2026
    • If Ivory Coast makes the quarter-finals
  • Manchester City (H) – January 17th 2026
    • If Ivory Coast makes the final

Other Competition Fixtures Amad Could Miss

Of course, the Premier League isn’t the only competition played throughout this time period. There are cup matches that the Ivorian could miss. These include:

  • FA Cup 3rd Round – Takes place weekend of Saturday, 10 January 2026
    • If Ivory Coast make the quarter-finals
  • Carabao Cup semi-final first leg – Fixture takes place week commencing 12 January 2026.
    • If Ivory Coast makes semi-final of AFCON

How Will Manchester United Cope Without Amad?

We saw last season that Manchester United struggled without Amad in their side, and this season could be the same. Although Matheus Cunha has signed, he will likely be played off the left, whereas the Ivorian has been used on the right side, whether at wingback or as the right No. 10.

Bryan Mbeumo seems set to make the move to the club, but he also will likely be away for the same international tournament. This leaves Manchester United incredibly light on that side of the pitch. Brazilian Antony doesn’t seem to be staying, Garnacho looks on his way out, and the future of Marcus Rashford seems to be away from the club.

The Old Trafford side may need to sign another man who could play on the right side, or else they could be left to fill it with a makeshift option.
