Every Game Bryan Mbeumo Will Miss Through AFCON 2025

Bryan Mbeumo is set to be a Manchester United player. Despite late interest from Tottenham Hotspur, the Cameroonian has his eyes set only on Old Trafford.

The forward had a remarkable season last campaign, scoring 20 and assisting 7 in 38 appearances. He set himself up as one of the most dangerous attackers in the league, and his ability to play all 38 fixtures is no mean feat. However, with AFCON taking place this year, Bryan Mbeumo will not be around for every game. With the Premier League fixtures announced, here are all the games the winger will or is likely to miss.

Premier League Games Bryan Mbeumo Will Not Be Available For Due to AFCON

AFCON 2025 is set to take place from December 21st through until January 18th. This means the Cameroonian could miss up to six league matches. The games that Mbeumo will guarantee to miss, should he be selected in the national team squad for the tournament, are:

  • Aston Villa (A) – December 20th 2025
  • Newcastle (H) – December 27th 2025
  • Wolves (H) – December 30th 2025

If Cameroon are to progress to the later rounds of the tournament, Mbeumo will then miss the following:

  • Leeds United (A) – January 3rd 2026
    • If Cameroon make Round of 16
  • Burnley (A) – January 7th 2026
    • If Cameroon make the quarter-finals
  • Manchester City (H) – January 17th 2026
    • If Cameroon make the final

Other Competition Fixtures Bryan Mbeumo Could Miss

Of course, the Premier League isn’t the only competition played throughout this time period. There are cup matches that the Cameroonian could miss. These include:

  • FA Cup 3rd Round – Takes place weekend of Saturday, 10 January 2026
    • If Cameroon make the quarter-finals
  • Carabao Cup semi-final first leg – Fixture takes place week commencing 12 January 2026.
    • If Cameroon make semi-final of AFCON

How Will Manchester United Cope Without Mbuemo?

It is still too early to tell on the shape of Manchester United’s squad going into the 2025/2026 season, but on the face of it, the Old Trafford side are set to lose a lot of manpower up top. It is a well-known problem that Manchester United struggle to score goals, and taking a man like Mbeumo out won’t help the cause.

Additionally, Amad, who would be the man to replace the Cameroonian, will also more than likely be away at AFCON with Ivory Coast. Furthermore, Garnacho seems set to leave the club, Antony looks surplus to requirements, and Marcus Rashford’s future is still up in the air, although you’d assume it’s leaning away from Manchester.

Overall, the December period seems tough for United, and perhaps they need to add some more names to the frontline over the forthcoming transfer window.
