Liverpool Fans Are Unhappy With Arne Slot’s Latest Chiesa Decision
Federico Chiesa has become quite the cult hero at Anfield, despite his short time at the club so far, with many Liverpool supporters loving the chant created for the Italian.
The former Juventus man hasn’t really had a chance to make an impact on Merseyside due to a season stunted by constant injuries and the form of the attackers in front of him.
Liverpool are now embarking on their international preseason tour, after flying out to Asia on Sunday evening. However, before doing so, earlier in the day, the Reds took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Stoke City, which ended 5-0 to the Premier League champions.
Chiesa did feature in the game and even managed to score the fifth goal for his side in the game but Arne Slot has now made a decision that has left Liverpool fans displeased.
Federico Chiesa Left Out of Liverpool Pre-Season Tour Squad
Ahead of Liverpool’s preseason tour, which will see them play in both Japan and Hong Kong, Arne Slot has chosen a 29-man squad for the two games against AC Milan and Yokohama F. Marinos, with the list of names revealed on liverpoolfc.com.
Key academy inclusions see Rio Ngumhoa, Trey Nyoni, and Luca Stephenson as part of the group, while the usual suspects such as Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson Becker also travel.
However, one name is notably missing: Federico Chiesa. Despite playing and scoring in the friendly against Stoke City, the forward was left out of the squad due to a “minor fitness issue.”
Although some reports online by reliable journalists hint that it may be due to bigger implications. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested that the 27-year-old has been left out as his departure from Liverpool is “expected.”

Liverpool Fans React to Chiesa’s Exclusion from Asia Tour
Many fans still believe that Federico Chiesa should be given a fair chance to prove himself, but it appears that his time is coming to an end in England.
Despite the fact that the Italian may have pulled up with an injury after the friendly fans had the chance to reflect on his time so far.
One fan put: “Beyond disappointed about our treatment of Federico Chiesa. Just isn’t right. Guy was barely given any chances. Absolute joke.”
Another said, “Still never understand the situation with him and why [they] bought him and treat him like that. He’s doing reasonably well. He loves the club and the fans love him.”

Meanwhile another shared, “He has never been given a chance and for the few minutes he does get, he really does change the game.”
Liverpool Will Need More Firepower
At the moment, it appears that Liverpool are attempting to reshuffle their whole forward department. Like with Chiesa, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have been subject to rumours linking them away from the club.
Bayern Munich are reportedly eager to land the Colombian, and reports suggest the Anfield side are willing to do business but only for an exceptional fee.
Whereas Nunez was expected to join Napoli, but the two clubs could not agree on a fee, leaving Saudi Arabia his likely destination.
While Hugo Ekitike has received the “here we go” on a transfer to Liverpool, if the club does lose Nunez, Diaz, and Chiesa, you would expect at least one more attacker to join the Premier League champions.
Brazilian Rodrygo and Newcastle duo Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon have been prominent names linked with the club recently, but we will have to wait and see if deals could be struck for any of those names.
