Manchester United Secure Cristian Orozco Deal as INEOS Double Down on Youth Recruitment
Manchester United have struck a preliminary agreement to sign Cristian Orozco, the 17-year-old captain of Colombia’s U17 national team, from Fortaleza CEIF. Born on 13 July 2008, Orozco will only be able to complete his move to Old Trafford in 2026, when he turns 18.
The deal, reported by Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, highlights United’s growing commitment to investing in young prospects from South America and beyond. Under the guidance of INEOS and manager Rúben Amorim, United are reshaping their recruitment to build for the future.
Youth-First Recruitment Under INEOS
This agreement fits neatly into a pattern of smart, youth-driven acquisitions. Earlier this year, United paid around £3 million for Paraguayan full-back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteño.
