Six Superstar Eredivisie Players Attracting Premier League Interest – Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Brighton & More
With the summer transfer window officially opening, the rumour mill across Europe is back in full swing. Following a dramatic season in the Netherlands in which Ajax and PSV tussled for the title, several Eredivisie players are linked with moves to the Premier League, as clubs scout across the globe looking for players to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.
Here are seven rumoured departures hoping to replicate some successful Dutch players making a move to England in recent years, after a 2024/2025 season that saw Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk lift the Premier League trophy.
Seven Eredivisie Players Who Could Join the Premier League
1) Jorrel Hato (Ajax)
Linked clubs: Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea
Tipped as the next van Dijk, Hato is an exciting 19-year-old who enjoyed an impressive season in an Ajax side that somehow failed to clinch the title. The versatile defender was also named the 2024/25 Eredivisie Young Player of the Year, an award won in recent years by the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Jurrien Timber & Xavi Simons.
The Rotterdam-born youngster played most of the 24/25 season at left back, appearing in 28 matches. Hato is also well equipped to play at centre-back, a position he was more familiar with during his youth days. Despite an interview with the Dutch newspaper ‘De Telegraaf’ in January claiming Ajax was the best place for his development and having a contract running until 2028, reports suggest Ajax could be willing to cash in on the youngster for a fee in the region of €40 million.
The 19-year-old has represented Ajax at all levels, making his senior debut in 2023. He captained Ajax in their 2023/24 Europa League game against AEK Athens, aged just 17. The last two years he has cemented his place in the back four as a regular, starting 30 of the 34 league games in 24/25.
More intent going forward this season has been evident too, helped by playing for a club famous for an attacking philosophy. A presence from set pieces, he scored two goals this season from corners, including a header. Hato also provided six assists, including two from left-sided crosses. A Netherlands debut came in 2023, with his inexperience slightly showing with a straight red card in the Nations League Quarter Final 2nd leg game against Spain, following a strong tackle, which he later admitted was ‘reckless’.
As a player, he’s comfortable playing in a back four, although his improvement in an attacking sense could see him as a wing-back or possibly midfielder in the future. Already well acquainted with a shorter passing game, the Dutch international has also seen success with long balls into wingers, as well as key forward passes between the lines. Strength and jumping from a young age are also sources of his playing style, having won over 50% of aerial duels across the entire season.\
🚨 Arsenal are really keen to sign Jorrel Hato and would be loathed to miss out on player they have been tracking since he was 15-years-old.

2) Quinten Timber (Feyenoord)
Linked clubs: Manchester United
With his twin brother making a move to the Premier League last summer, rumours linking Feyenoord captain Quinten Timber to England have grown over the last few months. With Jurrien enjoying his time at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta, 23-year-old Quinten has benefitted from a solid spell in Rotterdam.
After coming through the academy at Ajax, Timber joined Feyenoord in 2022, following a spell at Utrecht. Prior to an injury in February causing him to miss the remainder of the season, the box-to-box midfielder was putting in some strong performances to help Feyenoord later secure Champions League qualification under Robin van Persie.
Enjoying a more advanced role in recent years, the Dutchman played every game for Feyenoord during the first half of the season in central midfield. He became pivotal in the captain role, winning four player of the match awards in 16 starts. He scored six goals in 18 appearances across all competitions, averaging a goal every three games before his knee ligament injury. A lively player with excellent awareness, the energetic midfielder does not shy away from having an effort on goal when the opportunity presents itself. While two of his six goals this season came from outside the box, 29 of his 46 efforts in total were from outside the area, the 4th highest in the Eredivisie across the whole season. As well as a success rate in forward passes of 85%, Timber also benefits the team in the defensive phase, protecting the defence with two key tackles per game on average.
3) Zepiqueno Redmond (Feyenoord)
Linked clubs: Aston Villa
A highly rated striker linked with a move to the Premiership is 18 year old Zepiqueno Redmond, out of contract this summer. A riskier signing, although with lots of development ahead and under a good manager like Unai Emery, could become a consistent goal scorer.
Having switched between the Under-21 and senior teams, he made his debut this season after joining Feyenoord in 2019 at the age of 13. Redmond made four appearances in the Eredivisie, two of those being starts. He also started in the KNVB Cup tie against lower league MVV Maastricht, scoring a brace. The UEFA Youth League offered an opportunity for Redmond to show his versatility, starting three of the four games as a winger.
His season burst into life back in February, when he unexpectedly started for Feyenoord in their UEFA Champions League knockout stage second leg tie with AC Milan, caused by the sudden departure of regular striker Santiago Gimenez. Despite struggling to make a big impact, he also came on as a substitute in the closing stages of the second leg last 16 defeat to Inter Milan.
A good passer of the ball, his prowess in the box shows, as well as his positional knowledge, with all five goals scored in 2024/2025 across all levels coming from inside the penalty area. His strength and hold-up play still need work, losing eight of his 11 aerial duels in the Eredivisie last season.

4) Olivier Boscagli (PSV)
Linked clubs: Brighton
The 27 year old French centre-back is out of contract this summer and would be a strong signing for several clubs, with Brighton highly tipped to have won the race for his signature.
Born in Monaco and signed from Nice in 2019, vice-captain Boscagli was an ever-present and pivotal member of PSV’s title-winning squad. He made 30 starts in the Eredivisie at centre-back, including a further 11 starts in the Champions League.
A good leader, he stood in as captain for several matches after regular captain Luuk De Jong missed a few games mid-season. Boscagli has represented France at all levels aside from the senior squad, with Les Bleus notoriously strong in depth at the back.
The experienced defender is a real threat from set pieces, his only goal this season coming against Groningen, a tap-in at the back post following some good movement in the box from a corner. His goals, however, have gone against the traditional method you would expect from a centre-back, with just one of his last nine goals scored coming from a header. Olivier also provided six assists this season, with only Ajax’s Jorrel Hato equalling the same number in the centre-back department. That included two crosses and one through ball, while the others were involvements from set pieces.
While winning an impressive 85% of tackles throughout the season, the Frenchman is also comfortable on the ball, playing out from the back whether short or long. Perhaps unsurprising for a PSV side who averaged 68% possession per game during their Eredivisie campaign.
Boscagli had an 88% pass success rate, averaging eight accurate long passes per game. This percentage was also within the top 30 amongst all Eredivisie players throughout the season and the 4th highest in the title-winning PSV squad.
5) Ricardo Pepi (PSV)
Linked Clubs: Fulham
Fulham’s history of signing USA internationals could embark on a new chapter this summer – with 22 year old Ricardo Pepi linked with a move to London.
The PSV striker comes off the back of a strong goalscoring season, despite missing the second half of the campaign through injury. He missed out on the US squad for the Gold Cup currently taking place, although he is expected to be back playing next month. Despite playing just 18 of the 34 Eredivisie games in PSV’s title-winning season, Pepi finished with 11 goals, making him the joint third highest scorer for the club last season.
While just rumours at this stage, it would take a big bid to lure the American away from PSV, reportedly in the region of £30 million, with the striker having signed a new deal back in February to keep him in Eindhoven until 2030. The Texas-born striker joined PSV back in 2023 after spells at FC Dallas, Augsburg and Groningen.
The two-time Dutch champion, plus Nations League winner, enjoyed a clinical first half of the season before his knee injury. He was the top scorer in the KNVB national cup after PSV reached the semi-final stage, scoring four goals. He’s also not shy about scoring against Premier League teams, having found the net in PSV’s 3-2 win over Liverpool in the 24/25 Champions League.
As a player, Pepi spent the majority of games he started as a lone striker in an attacking 4-3-3 formation, with support from midfield and wingers in a team that always played on the front foot given the strength of their league status. A hard worker too who likes to help out defensively, the 22-year-old averaged one successful tackle per game. He also works hard to bring others into play, being dispossessed just 12 times over the course of 28 games.
From an attacking sense, there is pedigree in the box with sharp movement, averaging five shots a game last season, with nearly all of these taken from inside the area. Primarily right-footed, 13 of his 17 goals in all competitions last season came from his stronger foot, with two headers also helping him get his name on the scoresheet. None of these goals came from outside the penalty box, while nearly 70% of his career goals have come in the second half of games.
Overall accuracy would be a key strength for any teams interested, with over 50% of shots on goal finding the target – 19 out of 28. One weakness would be his aerial strength, with Pepi losing 27 of his 41 headers throughout last season.

6) Walter Benitez (PSV)
Linked Clubs: Crystal Palace
An out-of-contract experienced Argentine goalkeeper is available this summer, with reports suggesting FA Cup winners Crystal Palace could be closing in on a free transfer.
Walter Benitez started every game between the posts for champions PSV last season, including 11 matches in the Champions league, one of only five Eredivisie keepers to have played every domestic minute. The goalkeeper joined PSV from Nice back in 2022, going on to make 134 appearances during his stint.
A side with the fourth-best defence in the league, the 32-year-old was a pivotal part of the strong backline last season, conceding 39 goals in 34 games. That includes nine clean sheets, amounting to 43 during his three years in Eindhoven.
The 2024 and 2025 Dutch champion averaged just under two saves a game, the 33rd highest for a goalkeeper in the league, although rather unsurprising within a team that dominated the majority of games and had the fewest shots against them in the entire league. This is also backed up by his passing statistics, finishing the season with 814 short passes, comfortably the highest amongst goalkeepers in the league.
This averages around 35 passes per game, 10 of those being longer passes, with a 50% accuracy rate. The 32-year-old’s experience was also a factor, as he was quick off his line and well positioned when needed while winning all of his aerial duels over the course of the season.
