Premier League Matchday 13 Predictions

Welcome back to the Attacking Football weekly predictions. Alex and Yassin are back again to try to predict the outcome of this week’s matches. A few huge games feature this week, so let’s waste no time and dive straight in.

Premier League Matchday 13 Predictions & Preview

Brighton vs Southampton

Brighton: The Seagulls are having a brilliant season. They have 22 points from 12 games, they play exquisite football, and they have the same number of points as Arsenal and Chelsea. Although I initially predicted their relegation, I now regret that prediction. With City’s form, Arsenal’s unpredictability, and Chelsea’s unpredictability, would it be crazy to think that they may be in a title race if Liverpool starts dropping points, especially with them being the only team that does not have midweek games?

Southampton: The Saints now have to break records to survive, as no side has survived relegation after losing ten out of their first twelve games in Premier League history. The performance overall for Southampton vs. Liverpool was actually a good one; they just kept doing what they have done all season and conceded from their own mistakes.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 4-1 Brighton. I’ll have a miserable away day, as they all have been, but Brighton will show their talent and take their chances.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-0 Brighton. The Saints’ performance against Liverpool was admirable. They fought but conceded from three individual errors. They need to cut on these errors; otherwise, they are going straight to the Championship. Against a team with Brighton’s ambitions and quality, they once again put themselves at risk.

Wolves vs Bournemouth

Wolves: I have been predicting Wolves to win every game and they always lost their games. Now, I predict they will lose, and they will dismantle Fulham. They are starting to catch form and momentum with two wins from their last two games.

Bournemouth: The Cherries got defeated by a decent Brighton side. However, Brighton were down to 10 for half the game, so they could have, in my opinion, done slightly better. However, they continue to improve.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 2-0 Bournemouth. The Cherries will demonstrate their seriousness, solidifying their position as European contenders this season.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-2 Wolves. Wolves have emerged victorious in their last two games. They now play against a Bournemouth team that will be without Semenyo at home. The Cherries and Wolves score a lot and concede a lot. Anticipate a thrilling encounter at the Molineux, where Wolves will ultimately emerge victorious.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich

Nottingham Forest: Forest had a tough test against Arsenal, losing 3-0; however, I fully believe they will return to winning ways vs. Ipswich this week with a dominant and powerful performance vs. The Tractor Boys.

Ipswich: The Tractor Boys have four points from their last two against Manchester United and Tottenham. They outperformed the Red Devils, demonstrating a growing acclimatization to the Premier League and the disparity in quality.

Predictions:

Alex’s prediction: 3-0 Forest. Forest will inflict damage onto Keiran McKenna’s side, dismantling them and pushing The Reds higher up the table.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-1 Ipswich. With Nottingham coming back to the ground after their brilliant start to the season, Ipswich has a chance to inflict more pain. A good win lifts them out of the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle

Crystal Palace: Palace have had an awful start to the season as they sit 19th. Oliver Glasner MUST find a solution soon; otherwise, his job and Palace’s Premier League status could be at stake.

Newcastle: After the Magpies seemed like a team that is rounding into form, they inexplicably lost to West Ham 2-0 at St James Park. SNewcastle is entering their Tottenham era, where it is difficult to predict which team will show up.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction:

Yassin’s prediction: 1-1. The Eagles benefitted from Villa’s wastefulness to get a good draw at Villa Park. With their results starting to improve, they use the momentum of their draw against Villa to get another point against Newcastle.

Brentford vs Leicester City

Brentford: The Bees are on the back of an uninspiring 0-0 draw vs struggling Everton and will hope to turn their fortunes around and defeat a struggling Leicester who have recently sacked Steve Cooper.

Leicester: If someone understands what is happening at Leicester, please explain it to me. They sacked Cooper without a replacement lined up when he was doing his best with a weak squad. Despite being above the relegation spots, they fired the manager who had guided them there. This situation is reminiscent of the chaos at Manchester United.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 4-2 Brentford. They won’t keep a clean sheet again. However, they will score more and comfortably defeat Leicester as they await for Ruud Van Nistelroy to take over.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-0 Brentford. Brentford are the definition of stability and a team fully believing in their manager. Leicester is a disorganized and unprepared team. The Bees are exceptionally dominant at home, and they roll on to an effortless win.

West Ham vs Arsenal

West Ham: The Hammers were starting to get into a frustrating zone. Things were not going well under Lopotegui, and new signings were not working. Finally, they secured their season-defining victory by defeating Newcastle at St James, a victory they hope will ignite their season.

Arsenal: The Gunners got back on form this week, scoring eight and conceeding one in two games; a new challenge at the London Stadium awaits them with Lopetegui’s job still hanging in the balance

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 3-1 Arsenal. Arteta’s Arsenal have their cannons up and firing as they hit a stunning turn of form from now on.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-2. Arsenal is starting to round into form with two wins from their last two games after the international break, scoring eight and only conceding once. West Ham will hope that playing at home with the momentum of beating Newcastle is enough to get a result here.

Tottenham vs Fulham

Tottenham: Spurs continued their mind-boggling form by beating City 4-0 at the Etihad. Which club in the world can beat Manchester United 3-0 and Manchester City 4-0 in Manchester only to lose to Ipswich and Crystal Palace?

Fulham: Fulham got absolutely embarrassed and dismantled by the firing Wolves; however, with Tottenham’s turbulent form, who knows what result will occur?

Predictions:

Alex’s prediction: 3-1 Spurs. I am resisting the strong desire to predict a Spurs loss and instead supporting the Lilywhites to secure a significant victory.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-1 Fulham. Based on Spurs’ recent performance, they have experienced a significant decline after a period of success. In a derby, they struggle to beat Fulham, who bounces back after a disappointing result against Wolves.

Manchester United vs Everton

Manchester United: The Amorim era started with a flyer. After 81 seconds, Rashford scored, sending the Red Devils and their fans into a state of euphoria. After that, they came crashing into earth with the players looking confused in Amorim’s first game. Yet, there was a clear idea of how Manchester United wants to play under the Portuguese coach.

Everton: The Toffees have only won once in their last five games, and a victory at Old Trafford currently seems highly improbable; however, given the current state of Manchester United, anything can happen.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 3-1 United. Amorim’s masterclass continues, as his style begins to flourish and the players embrace his concepts.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-0 Manchester United. Amorim gets his first Premier League win. The Red Devils benefit from Everton struggles in front of goal and give Amorim his first Premier League win at home, with the players becoming more confident in executing his ideas.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa

Chelsea: We can now take the Blues seriously. They look like a team that is intent on finishing in the top four and are growing into confidence with each game.

Aston Villa: The team has not won in seven games. The players and Emery will be eager to return to their early season form, which propelled them to the top of the table, as they aim to defeat the impressive Chelsea team thus far.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 4-0 Chelsea. Maresca’s men come steaming in and absolutely school Villa in an emphatic statement win.

Yassin’s prediction: 1-1. Chelsea, aware of their potential to surpass a direct competitor by seven points, fails to complete the task, resulting in a draw. The Birmingham Lions start getting out of their terrible form with that draw.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Liverpool: The Reds were somewhat lucky vs. Southampton with a performance that was well under what they have been so far; however, as title winners, you need luck on your side once every so often.

Manchester City: The Citizens are starting to enter into an unprecedented time under Guardiola. The Citizens have gone six games without a victory, squandering a 3-0 lead at home against Feyenord and suffering a 4-0 defeat against Spurs at the Etihad. The four-time champions look fragile and mentally and physically tired.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 3-0 Liverpool. Pep’s woes continue with Slot winning the battle of the bald and stamping their authority at the top of the league.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-1 Manchester City. Every logical prediction suggests that Liverpool will easily win. The Citizens are in an atrocious situation and have not won in six games. Anfield will be rocking, and the Liverpool squad knows they have a chance to go up 11 points. This is where the mantle and mentality of the Champions appear to stop Liverpool from having an insurmountable lead. City wins for the first time at Anfield—with fans present—in 21 years to close the gap to five points.
