Manchester United Are Set To Beat Liverpool To The Appointment Of Jason Wilcox

Manchester United are set to beat Liverpool to the appointment of Southampton director Jason Wilcox, after it was revealed the Merseyside club had agreed to a compensation package with the Championship side, which would pay a full-year salary.

The belief now is that the former Head of Manchester City’s academy is only interested in a move to Manchester United, and has already agreed to join the club in meetings with INEOS. He would be working with Omar Berrada for the second time in his career, with the two previously combining on the blue side of Manchester.

United Set To Beat Liverpool To Wilcox:

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are now set to beat Liverpool to Jason Wilcox, after the Premier League leaders agreed to a compensation package with Southampton for the director. Wilcox is only interested in a move to Manchester United and is awaiting an agreement on compensation to join the new INEOS project.

Wilcox is set to join United as a technical director, and is expected to be in charge of recruitment this summer and likely up until the arrival of Dan Ashworth from Newcastle United. United are currently working on their own agreement on compensation with Southampton, having had an offer to pay a year’s salary turned down.

The 53-year-old has made his desires to join Manchester United clear, and the INEOS project has been described as the only project for him, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
