EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United Are Interested In Tosin Adarabioyo

AttackingFootball sources have been informed that Manchester United are interested in Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, who is out of contract at the London club this summer.

Fulham would like to try and renew the contract of the defender, who has been at the club since 2020, but he is keeping his options open at this moment in time regarding his future.

Back to Manchester

Adarabioyo, who played for Manchester City‘s academy as a youth, is said to be interested in making a return to Manchester. The 26-year-old was a Manchester United fan when he was growing up and the Reds have previous interest in him from his days in the City academy.

United admire the defender due to his ability in the air and his raw pace, which is something they feel they lack in defensive areas with the current options at the club. Another huge factor is the fact that Adarabioyo is a homegrown player and would fit into the quota of homegrown talents every club in the Premier League has to fill in their squad.

United are not alone in their interest, but they are expected to be one of the biggest suitors in the race for the defender in the summer. INEOS are anticipated to put a huge emphasis on English talent during their first transfer window, and a player like the Fulham defender would be seen as a huge coup if they could get a deal done.

It’s not often that a player like Adarabioyo becomes available on the market for free, and United are hopeful of learning from their past mistakes and not letting deals like this pass them by.

The Reds are set to undergo a defensive reshape this summer, with Raphael Varane tipped to leave the club on a free transfer himself. There are also question marks over whether Harry Maguire will remain at the club, and there have been no reassurances over the future of Victor Lindelof either.

The Fulham defender is yet to represent England at international level, and a move to United could open up the door for that to happen. The 26-year-old is also eligible to represent Nigeria.

He has featured over 100 times for the side from Craven Cottage since signing, guiding them to a top-ten finish last season, a year after winning the Championship to gain promotion and getting into the PFA Team of The Year for the division.

Adarabioyo was also at one stage the youngest player to ever feature for Manchester City in the Champions League under Pep Guardiola when he came off the bench to replace John Stones in the 16/17 season against Steaua Bucharest at 19 years and 73 days old.

Manchester United’s interest is real, and if Adarabioyo does not sign a new contract at Fulham between now and the summer transfer window, there’s every chance he will end up at Old Trafford.
